Obituary of Jean M. Robertson

Mrs. Jean Marie Robertson of Lodi passed away Friday December 2, 2005 at her residence at the age of 68. Mrs. Robertson was born March 29, 1937 in Farnhanville, Iowa to Charles and Ellen Powell. Mrs. Robertson worked as a Davis Elementary School Kindergarten Teacher in Lodi for over 30 years before retiring in 2002. She graduated from Drake University in Des Moines Iowa in 1959, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She then completed her postgraduate work in the California Higher Education System. She previously taught Iowa. Mrs. Robertson was a member of St. Anne?s Catholic Church, California Teachers Assoc. and Lodi Education Assoc. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, watching sports and spending time with her family and friends, especially with her grandchildren. She will be best remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, mostly for her years teaching at Davis Elementary School. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Thomas S. Robertson of Lodi; beloved daughters, Angela K. Chambers of Bellingham, Washington; Amy Lynne Simas of Castro Valley; 3 sisters, Beverly Wassgren of Downey, California; Marjorie Hickey of Farnhanville, Iowa; Mary Beth Sporleder of Auburn, Iowa; 4 grandchildren, Rachel K. and Elise Clare Chambers of Bellingham, Washington; Abigail Jean and Joshua Thomas. Simas of Castro Valley. She was preceded in death by a brother Barry Jo Powell. A mass will be held Friday December 9, 2005, 10:00 am at St. Anne?s Catholic Church. A rosary will be held Thursday 6:30 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 -8:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home.
