Ludwig Ereth of Lodi passed away in Lodi on November 30, 2005 at the age of 77. Mr. Ereth was born on March 30, 1928 in Hoffer, Sask., Canada to Ludwig and Katie Ereth. His family moved to Mandan, North Dakota. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On June 18, 1955, he married Marvell Sauers in Mandan. They first moved to Minnesota and later moved to California in 1961, settling in Lodi in 1969. He was employed at General Mills for 30 years as an industrial electronics and instrument technician until his retirement in 1998. He also was self-employed, starting Action Air Conditioning Company in 1977, working until very recently. Mr. Ereth was passionate about his family first whom he loved so very much, then his work and finally square dancing. He will be so dearly missed. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and Lodi Promenade Square Dancers. Mr. Ereth is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marvell Ereth of Lodi; children, Curtis Ereth of Lodi, Thomas Ereth of Lodi, William (Lori) Ereth of Woodbridge, Steven Ereth of Thornton and Julie Ramirez of Lodi; 8 grandchildren, Starlene, Crystal, Nicole, Katie, Randy, Grant, Samantha and Thomas, Jr.; 3 great-grandsons, Benjamin, Marcus and Nathaniel; four sisters, Frances Emmel and Emilie Friess of Canada, Eileen Jahraus of Washington, and Helen Muller of Montana. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe, Alex and Wendell Ereth and two sisters, Annie Gervais and Catherine Ereth. A chapel service will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home with committal to follow at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin on Friday at 6:30 p.m., at Lodi Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests remembrances made to the Ronald McDonald House. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories may be shared.
