Obituary of Eddie Aguirre

Eduardo Elpidio "Eddie" Aguirre passed away unexpectedly in San Diego on November 20, 2005 at the age of 44. Eddie was born in McAllen, Texas on October 19, 1961 to Cayetano and Aurora Aguirre. He moved to this area with his family when he was very young, attending local schools, graduating from Lodi High School and attending Delta College. He was self-employed, owner of Aguirre & Associates Insurance Brokers. He had been a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Eddie was very active in the community of Lodi. Among his many accomplishments, he chaired the city's Planning Commission, helped to direct the Lodi Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program, served on the Board of Directors of the Mexican-American Lions Club, also served on the board of the Lodi Police Foundation as well as the Police Department Crime Stoppers. He also gave of his time to support research for cancer and Alzheimer's diseases. Eddie was an integral part of the Hispanic community. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his sisters, Linda (David) Garza and Hope Garcia of McAllen, Texas; two uncles, Avaro and Edelmiro Aguirre of McAllen, Texas; three aunts, Zoila Nino of Galt, Aurora Zuniga of McAllen, Texas, Anita Ortegon of Lockney, Texas and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Cayetano E. Aguirre in 1998, mother, Aurora C. Aguirre in January of 2005 and sister, Gloria Aguirre in April of 2004. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Eddie's Life on Saturday, December 3rd at 11:00 AM at Lodi Funeral Home with Deacon Porfi Cisneros officiating. There is no visitation, and committal is private. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be made to Eddie Aguirre Leadership Lodi Scholarship Fund, Lodi Chamber of Commerce, 35 S.
