Obituary of Marie Ratzlaff

Marie Ratzlaff passed away on November 24, 2005 at the age of 103 years in Lodi. She was born on a farm at Jansen, Nebraska on October 22, 1902. She lived in that rural environment until 1946 when she and her family moved to Reedley, California. She married Isaac Ratzlaff in 1922. To this union were born two sons and a daughter, Harlan, LaVern and Marian. In 1948 the family moved to Salem, Oregon. There Marie was employed at the Blue Lake Packers cannery for 16 years. In 1974, after the death of her husband, she moved to San Jose, California to live at Lincoln Glen Manor. In 1989 she moved to Lodi, California to be near her daughter. She is survived by a son, Harlan Ratzlaff of Salem, Oregon, a daughter, Marian Ewert of Lodi, California, six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Ratzlaff and son, LaVern Ratzlaff. Visitation for Marie is scheduled at Lodi Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2005. A Memorial Service will be held at the Vinewood Community Church at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2005. Burial will be at the Belcrest Cemetery in Salem, Oregon.
