Emma Gohl of Lodi passed away in Lodi at the age of 90 on November 22, 2005. Mrs. Gohl was born in Herreid, South Dakota on October 1, 1915 to John and Amelia Edinger. She married Samuel Gohl on November 20, 1935 in South Dakota. They moved to California in 1946. She was a homemaker most of her life, residing in this area for the last 58 years. Mrs. Gohl attended First Baptist Church in Lodi. She enjoyed playing bingo, puzzles of any kind, and arts and crafts projects, but most importantly, she loved her family. She is survived by her daughter,Elizabeth "Betty"(Larry) George of Elk Grove; son, Roland (Rosalie) Gohl of Los Banos; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Gohl in 1987; daughter, Sylvia Fromm in 1988; son Lewis Gohl in 2002; granddaughter, Joyce Fromm in 1985; great-grandson, Carl Candelo; brother Otto Edinger and sisters, Annie Bier and Martha Metz. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Newman officiating. Friends are invited to visit Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, Inc., Greater Northern California Chapter, 3336 Mather Field Road, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 or charity of donor's choice.
