Sylvia Loucinda Baker was born August 26, 1909 in Joplin, Missouri. She passed away peacefully on October 21, 2005 in Lodi, California, she was 96. Sylvia traveled with her family by covered wagon at the age of 4 from Missouri to Tennessee. In 1929 she met and married Rufus Wesley Baker and the couple moved briefly to Arizona before settling in Lodi, California in 1931. Sylvia worked at Woods Cannery for over 20 years and enjoyed cooking and gardening, crocheting and knitting, but her true love was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Sylvia was a kind and gentle spirit who loved her family and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by her entire family. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons: Kenneth Baker and his wife Shirley of Lodi, Doyle Baker and his wife Nona of Jackson, 11 Grandchildren, 17 Great-grandchildren, and 2 Great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years Rufus Baker, and her sons; Leon Baker and Donald Baker
