Obituary of Duska Lou Hess

Duska Lou Hess of Sacramento passed away with her family at her side in Sacramento on September 10, 2005 at the age of 70. Mrs. Hess was born in Lodi, CA on October 26, 1934 to Howard Louis and Donez Alberta (Dutschke) Bailey. She graduated from Lodi High School and later moved to Sacramento. She married Karl "Al" Hess on November 29, 1953 in Morris Chapel at University of the Pacific in Stockton. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Al and Dusty's Liquor Store in Sacramento for 27 years and retired in 1991. She enjoyed traveling with her sister to Mexico yearly with friends, fishing and playing tennis. She was a very active golfer, involved as a tournament chairman at Bradshaw among other things. Duska is survived by her daughters, Kimberlee Hess of Sacramento, Jill Alyn (husband, John) Cline of Brentwood; grandchildren, Daniel, Alexander, Aaron; sister, Nedra Mc Girr of Sparks, Nevada; Aunt Virginia Hess; sister-in-law, Mary?O Bodenhamer; nephews, Ancil Hoffman and Thomas Hess and nieces, Meghan Kenney and Sydne Lindeman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Alan Hess in 2000. A Memorial Service to celebrate Duska's life will be held on Saturday, September 17th at 2:00 PM at Sierra View Funeral Chapel, 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd., Carmichael, CA 95608. There is no visitation, and committal is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice @ Vitas Healthcare Corp of California, 3841 N.
