Obituary of Edward Joseph Beaver

Edward Joseph BEAVER Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin April 13, 1924 Died suddenly while vacationing in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 21, 2005 Ed was raised on a farm in St. Bonifacius, Minnesota He graduated from Mound High School, Mound, Minnesota in 1942. Married Evelyn J. Baguhn on October 23, 1946. Leaving the cold winters of Minnesota behind, he moved his family to Riverside, CA in 1950 and two years later to Corona, CA. In 1965 he relocated to Walnut Creek, CA where they lived for 10 years prior to moving to Reno, NV. In 1998 he and Evelyn relocated in Lodi, CA. Ed had a long and wonderful career in the freight business. He worked in the business for 48 years where he made numerous friends over the years. Ed began his career with California Motor Express (CME) Los Angeles in 1957, became Sales Manager for CME/San Francisco in 1965. In 1975 he relocated to Reno, Nevada to develop the Reno/Sparks market for CME. He continued to work in the trucking business until 1989 where at age 65 he decided to make a change and work for his long time friends, the Beidleman Family at Honolulu Freight Service. He continued his work with Honolulu Freight Service in Reno and Stockton, California until his death at age 81. Ed loved spending time with his family and friends. He always had a good story and loved to tell a few jokes. He loved working in the yard and laying brick where ever he could. He was always there to help anyone who needed a hand. Ed attended Saint Anne?s Catholic Church in Lodi. He was preceded in death by Evelyn, his wife of 57 years. Surviving are his son Jim (Sherlee) of Antioch, CA. grandchildren - Tom, Nan, David and Jamie and 5 great grandchildren, his son Bob of Seal Beach, CA. grandsons ? Ed and Jeff, his son Tom (Mary) of Renton, WA. granddaughters- Danielle and Katie and his close friend and companion, Clara Clear of Sacramento, CA. A Memorial Service will be held at Lodi Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday September 17th 1:00 P.M. Inurnment will be private. Flowers may be sent to Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., Lodi, CA 95240. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Vistor Aloha Society 2250 Kalakaua Ave. Suite 403-3 Honolulu, HI 96815. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Lodi Funeral Home.
