Mr. Frank Rukavina of Lockeford passed away Wednesday August 31, 2005 in a Lodi hospital at the age of 89. Mr. Rukavina was born October 14, 1915 in S. St. Paul, Minnesota to Steve and Katie Rukavina. Mr. Rukavina worked as a local truck driver for D.H. Winn Trucking in Lockeford for the past 20 years before retiring in 1985. In his early years Mr. Rukavina worked and rode with the Shrine Mounted Patrol in Oakland, he later joined the Teamsters Local 439 of Stockton and began his driving career. He was a United States Army and WWII Veteran and a life member of the V.F.W. Post 9009 of Lockeford. He enjoyed ranching, caring for his livestock and spending time with his family and friends. He will be best remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Mrs. Margaret Rukavina of Lockeford; 1 daughter, Pat Millerick of Lockeford; 2 grandsons, Todd Millerick of Lockeford; Michael Millerick of Stockton; 2 great granddaughters, Robin and Shelly Millerick of Lockeford; and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Nick Rukavina, 1 sister, Rose Lorber and 1 niece Wanda Savage. A graveside service will be held Wednesday September 7, 2005, 2:00 pm at the Harmony Grove Cemetery in Lockeford. Visitation will be held Tuesday 12:00 -8:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home.
