Louella Dietrich, a long-time resident of Lodi, passed away in Lodi at the age of 87 on August 31, 2005. Mrs. Dietrich was born in Robinson, North Dakota on January 7, 1918 to Reinhold and Mollie Grabinske. She came to Lodi in 1936 and worked at the Log Cabin Restaurant. She married Theodore "Ted" Dietrich in 1940. She had lived in the house that he built for 53 years. She had been employed at Stokely Van Camp Cannery as a sorter for over 30 years. She was a homemaker, enjoying gardening as well as sewing, but her greatest love was her family. She was a member of Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mrs. Dietrich is survived by her daughters, Judy (husband, John) Callahan of Lodi and Norene Dietrich of Stockton; two grandchildren, Jeffrey ( wife, Tiffany) Callahan and Jeremy (wife, Michelle) Callahan; two great-grandchildren, Ericka and Jefferson Callahan; sister, Emelia Randall of Robinson, N.D. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Theodore "Ted" Dietrich in March of 2004; an infant son; three brothers and three sisters. A chapel service will be held on Tuesday at Lodi Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. Committal will be private. Visitation will begin on Saturday at 11:00 AM until 6:00 PM, continuing Sunday and Monday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Asera Care Hospice, 4545 Georgetown Place, A-1, Stockton, CA 95207.
