Obituary of Evaristo A. Alacar

Evaristo A. Alacar of Galt passed away in Lodi at the age of 93 on August 30, 2005. He was born on October 16, 1912 in the Philippines to Teofilo and Catalina Alacar. He moved to Stockton in 1930 when he was 17. He moved to Lockeford in 1969, settling in Galt in 1993. He had worked for various farmers, pruning grapes, picking tomatoes and asparagus. He enjoyed gardening, but most importantly, he loved being with his friends and his family. Mr. Alacar is survived by his brother, Jaime Alacar of Fresno; three sisters, Caridad, Pacita and Rosa Alacar, all of the Philippines and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Antonio, Cesario and Ernesto Alacar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne's Catholic Church on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with committal to immediately follow. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said on Tuesday at 6:30 PM at Lodi Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at Lodi Funeral Home on Sunday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM, continuing Monday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM and Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
