Obituary of Edna Rau

Edna Frieda Rau was born October 31, 1916 in Zeeland, North Dakota to John and Christine Rutschke. She passed away July 18, 2005 in Lodi, California, she was 88. Edna married Ruben Rau on February 26, 1942 at her parent's home in Zeeland, ND. After their marriage, Ruben and Edna farmed in Artas, SD. until 1956 when they moved to Lodi. Once settled in Lodi; Edna was a homemaker and worked in our local canneries for many years. She was a member of the Herreid Baptist Church in Herreid, SD., and First Baptist Church in Lodi since 1956. Edna is survived by her husband; Ruben Rau of Lodi, sisters; Elsie Weisenberger of Eureka, SD., Christine Stroh of Sioux Falls, SD., and Idella Weisenberger of Eureka, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Christine Rutschke, sisters; Esther Stroh, and Gertha Munsch, and her brothers; Johnny and Edwin Rutschke. Friends may visit on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and are invited to attend Funeral Services on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., with interment at Cherokee Memorial Park immediately following.
