Obituary of Martha Irene Chandler

Martha "Irene" Chandler of Acampo passed away in Acampo at the age of 85 on July 6, 2005. Mrs. Chandler was born in Potts Camp, Miss. to Sebe and Nannie Garrett on September 7, 1919. She married King J. Chandler on August 15, 1937 in Oceola, Arkansas. They moved to California in 1938, returned to Arkansas in 1939 and came back to Lodi in 1942, settling in Acampo in 1951. Irene enjoyed gardening, particularly roses, her family, baking and most importantly being with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed. She was an attendee of Galt Bible Church. She is survived by her children; Frank M. Chandler of Galt, Wanda Jean Aamoth of Fremont and Linda Fay Armstrong of Lathrop; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Mary May, Jacksonville, Ark, Edna Chandler, Lodi, Elsie Greenwood, Lodi. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 15, 2004; brother, Waitus Garrett, sisters, Lucille May and Clara Maughan; grandchildren; Devin, Kent and Brian Chandler. A chapel service will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Wilburn of Big Valley Church officiating. Committal will immediately follow. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM, continuing Sunday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home.
