Alyce Loretta Brown-Adams, born November 22, 1925 at Rockford, Illinois. Deceased, June 18, 2005 at home of colon cancer. Alyce is survived by her sons, Wayne and Marklin Brown and five Grandsons, Jason, Andrew, Anson, Cory and Aaron. Alyce was preceded in death by her first husband in 1991, Curtis A. Brown, a Lockheed Aerospace Engineer and second husband in 2001, Edward N. Adams, Physicist for IBM. Alyce spent her spare time as a portrait and landscape artist until very recently. Her wildest adventure was a trip coast to coast and back as a navigator in a Piper Cub piloted by her first husband Curtis Alyce dedicated nearly 40 years of service to the American Red Cross. Her position of Chairman of Volunteers in San Jose, Moffett Field and later Stockton was instrumental in assistance to Servicemen around the world, national disaster relief and local relief for fire victims. Alyce began her tour with the Red Cross in 1960 as a driver and met dignitaries of all walks not the least being Shirley Temple-Black and President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Her most unusual duty was assisting in the coordination of hundreds of orphaned Vietnamese babies flown in by Military transport at the close of the war. Alyce worked at the local chapter of the American Red Cross until two years ago when her health began to restrict her. It is her request that donations to the local Red Cross be in her tribute. Her life of service inspired all who knew her. Services will be held at Lodi Funeral Home, Thursday June 30, 2005 at 4:00 PM. Reception following at Lodi Outpatient Surgical Center, 521 S. Ham Lane, Lodi, CA 95242.
