Obituary of Helen Thomassen

Mrs. Helen Thomassen of Galt, formerly of Long Beach, passed away in Lodi at the age of 97 on June 17, 2005. Mrs. Thomassen was born in Iowa on May 5, 1908. She moved to the Long Beach area when she was very young. She graduated from college, having been a teacher and then becoming a bookkeeper for 45 years, working for Davis LeGrand in Southern California. She moved to the Galt area in 1997. She was a Jehovah's Witness Church member for many years. She loved people, and enjoyed gardening, growing all her own vegetables for canning. She was an avid walker. She is survived by her two grandsons, Jeffrey Shane English and Todd Jason English of Galt; great-grandson, Brandon Robert English; sister Agnes Tiren and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Thomassen and only child, Aaron Delaine Thomassen. There is no visitation, and committal will be at Lodi Memorial Cemetery.
