Emelia Schneider of Lodi passed away in Lodi on April 27, 2005 at the age of 96. Mrs. Schneider was born in Hebron, N.D. to Theobald and Susanna Mees on December 17, 1908. She was raised in Hebron and moved to Lodi in 1942. She married Henry Schneider in 1946 in Tijuana, Mexico and lived in Lodi, renewing their vows at their daughter's house in Lodi. She helped her husband in the construction business with payroll, accounting, etc. from 1946 until retirement in 1972. She enjoyed baking, painting and ceramics. Mrs. Schneider was a member of First Baptist Church in Lodi and Ladies Aid Society. She is survived by her son, Gordon Brecht and daughter, Betty Campora, both of Lodi; sister, Kathryn Nordling of Aberdeen, S.D.; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Schneider in 1983; daughter, Marion Elsa Brecht; brothers, Herman and George Mees; sisters, Gertrude Mees, Louisa Kries, Elizabeth Schultz and Mary Fischer. A Chapel service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Lodi Funeral Home with Pastor Glen Barnes of First Baptist Church officiating. Committal will immediately follow. Visitation will begin at Lodi Funeral Home on Sunday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM, continuing on Monday form 8:00AM until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 267 N. Mills Avenue, Lodi, CA 95242.
