Mr. Raymond Walther of Lodi passed away in Lodi on April 21, 2005 at the age of 77. Mr. Walther was born in Linton, North Dakota on August 5, 1927 to Jacob and Hannah Walther. Raymond was raised on the farm by his parents who lived about 20 miles west of Linton, N.D. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1945 was discharged in 1946. He moved to Lodi, CA in the spring of 1947 and lived with his brother Fred Walther and family until Ray married Agnes Wohl on August 20, 1950 in Lodi. Ray was baptized and confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lodi in 1951. Ray worked for Concrete Pipe and Products Co. ( formerly named Spiekerman Concrete Pipe in Lodi and then Cen-Vi-Ro Pipe in Stockton until 1977). The company moved to Sacramento in 1977; Ray worked for the same company until his retirement in December of 1992. He was a plant superintendent. After his retirement, Ray worked part-time as a Security Guard for Allstate Packers. Ray's hobbies included gardening and doing odd jobs whenever needed for his children, relatives and friends. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Agnes Walther; daughters, Rachelle Rae Fawns of Castle Rock, CO, Rhonda Ann Craig of Lodi; Roberta Ann and husband, Bradley Evans of Lodi; grandchildren, Victor Rigas, III, Kaitlin Fawns, Grayson Craig, Christian Craig, Arielle Craig; siblings, Ida Hiatt and Etta Sherman of Washington, Herbert Walther of North Dakota, Jacob Walther, Jr. of MN and Kenneth Walther of MN. He was preceded in death by ten siblings. A service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Russ Creydt officiating. Committal will immediately follow. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home, continuing Monday from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 S. Pleasant Avenue, Lodi, Ca 95240 or charity of donor's choice.
