Obituary of June Altnow

Mrs. June Altnow of Lodi passed away Sunday April 10, in a Lodi hospital at the age of 82. Mrs. Altnow was born June 25, 1922 in Merced, California to Oscar and Leslie Holloway. Mrs. Alton married Arthur Altnow in 1940 and worked as an office manager for their family business Lodi Truck Service for a few years before their children were born. Mrs. Altnow attended and graduated from Lodi High School Class of 1940. Mrs. Altnow was a member of Bethel Open Bible Church, the Fore-Tee Niner?s Women?s Golf Club at Woodbridge Country Golf Club, Lodi Memorial Hospital Pink Ladies Auxiliary Club, and the Christian Women?s Club of Lodi. She was an accomplished golfer and pianist, and enjoyed spending time in Lake Tahoe as well as Palm Springs, Cooking, shopping, and entertaining family and friends. She will be best remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Arthur Altnow of Lodi; 2 sons, Dennis Altnow and wife Lois of Woodbridge; Don Altnow and wife Katherine of Acampo; 1 daughter, LaVon Fromm and husband Pastor Robert of Yuba City, CA; 1 brother, Emery Holloway of Lodi; 7 grandchildren, Jason Altnow and wife Veronique of Lodi; Leslie Altnow of Manhattan, New York; Michael Altnow of Acampo; Matthew Fromm of La Jolla; Christopher Fromm of Westwood; Jessica Hardy and husband Caleb of Lodi; Melissa Altnow of Woodbridge; 1 great granddaughter, Ashley Altnow of Lodi, a special niece Nancy Seidler Eichler of Camarillo. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carol and Cecil Holloway. A memorial service will be held Thursday April 14, 2005, 11:00 am at the Bethel Open Bible Church. A private graveside service will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Lodi Funeral Home.
