Obituary of Joseph Smith

Joseph Darrell Smith was born November 2, 1950 in Meade County, Kentucky. He passed away on April 6, 2005 in Lodi, California. He was 54 years of age. Darrell was raised and educated in Kentucky, he served in the Vietnam Conflict with the U.S. Army and worked as a Utility Company Safety Supervisor for nearly 30 years. He and his wife Deborah have lived in many locations but he most enjoyed Kentucky, Oregon, and finally settling in Lodi in 1997. Darrell liked riding motorcycles, old movies, yard sales, flea markets, music & movie trivia, College and NBA Basketball games, and restoring his 1966 Buick Skylark, but most all he loved spending time with his family, especially his children, they were his true pride and joy. He is survived by his wife; Deborah Smith of Lodi, son; Cole W. Smith of Berkeley, daughters; Virginia C. Smith of San Francisco, Jacklyn SB Smith, and Andrea L. Smith both of Lodi, brothers; Bobby, Larry, and Donnie Smith all of Kentucky, and sisters; Shirley Hamilton, Mary Jane Neeld, Joan Pryor, and Jill Smith also of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; William and Alma Smith, and his sisters; Willie Lou Rivers, Rita Grandchamp, and Linda Kruse. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday, April 11th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church (corner of Church and Walnut Streets, Lodi).
