Obituary of Michael O'Bird

Michael O'Bird of Lockeford passed away in Lodi at the age of 47 on March 18, 2005.Michael was born in Ceres, CA on December 1, 1957 to Morris and Mattie O'Bird. He lived his early life in Ceres. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1975-1978. On March 12, 1976 he married Janie Jackson in Charleston, North Carolina. He worked for 32 years as a machinist, most recently at Stockton TRI. Formerly of Ceres, he also lived in Woodbridge, Lodi and Lockeford. He enjoyed NASCAR, dirt bikes, being with his family, the ocean and travel. He survived by his wife, Janie O'Bird of Lockeford; children, James O'Bird of Copperopolis, Nathan O'Bird, Jason O'Bird and step-son, James Gibbons, all of Lockeford; one grandson, Jessie James O'Bird; mother, Mattie Uptegrove and step-father, John Henry Uptegrove of Ceres; sisters, Judy Dawson of Missouri, Jane Phelps of Fremont, Joyce Poore of Lower Lake, CA and brother, John O'Bird of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his father, Morris O'Bird and son, Michael John O'Bird. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, continuing Wednesday from 8:00 AM- 8:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home
