Lee Ona Smith was born March 1, 1905 in Arkansas. She passed away March 12, 2005 in Lodi, California at the age of 100. Lee Ona was born and raised in Arkansas where she completed school, met and married Robert Clyde Smith, and worked as a school teacher for a short time. The couple moved to California in 1930 and eventually settled in Acampo in 1943. Lee Ona worked for several years as a cook for Houston School, did private seamtress work, other part time seasonal work as well as being a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed gardening, and canning and took great pride in her jams, jellies, dehydrated fruits, and raisins, but her true joy was her family, she loved them all dearly and was very proud of each of them. She is survived by her daughters; Clydie Senecal of Acampo, Evelyn Tatum of Stockton, and Shirley Baker of Lodi. 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Smith and 3 grandchildren
