Obituary of James Robert Garecht

James Robert Garecht of Stockton, formerly of the Lodi area, passed away in Stockton on March 2, 2005 at the age of 70. Mr. Garecht was born in Richardton, N.D. on November 30, 1934 to George and Angeline Garecht. His family moved to Victor when he was six years old. He graduated from Lodi High School in 1953. He was in the U.S. Army from 1953-1957. On November 1, 1955, he married Ronna Gloss, settling in the Lodi vicinity in December of 1956. He was a glass glazier and was self-employed for 46 years. Mr. Garecht was owner and operator of Lodi Glass from 1980-2004. Mr. Garecht enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, but his whole life centered around his children and grandchildren and family. He was a member of Century Assembly. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Ronna Garecht of Stockton; children, Rhonda Duncan of Lodi, Ranai Jones of Lodi, Brenda Orozco of Lodi and James Garecht, Jr. of Lodi; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ted Garecht of Lodi and George Garecht of Lodi, sister, Mary Rimes of Douglas, Georgia, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Aurelia Garecht in 1949. A chapel service will be held at Lodi Funeral Home on Tuesday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Dale Edwards officiating. Committal will immediately follow. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM, continuing Monday from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home.
