Laura Lillian Billups, aged 92-1/2 years, went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband Edgar, on Feb.18, 2005. Born in Tamarack, Idaho, 11/04/1912, to Ada and Fred Fairhurst, 4th of 12 children, only one, Dolly Kay still lives. Laura married Edgar when she was just 16, lived with him on a ranch in Oregon, before moving to Thornton ,CA in 1940. She had a long career with the Thornton Cannery, working her way up to Floor Lady. Laura was beloved Mother to Donna Fritts (Stephen) and SgtMaj Edgar Billups, USMC Ret. (Jean); Grandmother to Col John A. Nicholson, USMC (Fritts) (Madeline), Tom Billups (deceased) (Kathleen), Terry Lou Flores (David), Tim Billups (Juliana); Great-grandmother of Ashley, Courtney and Logan Nicholson, Carolyn and Scott Billups, Robin Garrison, Shannon Flores, Briana Billups . Services will be held at the Galt Funeral Home, 03/05/2005, at 1:00 PM. There is no visitation, and committal is private.
