On February 3, 2005, Dorothy K. Bell of Roseville passed away in Roseville at the age of 81. Mrs. Bell was born in Auburn, California on January 19, 1924 to William and Rhoda Kinz. She was raised in Auburn, CA and was a graduate of Auburn High School. Later in her life, in her early 50's, she went back to school and earned her B.A. degree in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento. She later became the Director of the Woodland Senior Center in Woodland. She had a passion for working with seniors during her lifetime. Mrs. Bell was a peer counselor for self-help groups connected with Woodland Association of Peer Counselors from 1995 until she relocated to Roseville to be closer to her family. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad during her earlier years. Dorothy was a member of the Red Hat Society. All who knew her said she was a compassionate and good listener. Her greatest joy however, was being with her family. Beloved mother of Diane S. Barnett and husband, Ray of Roseville; son, William D. Salas and wife, Margaret of El Dorado Hills; loving grandmother of Jennifer Barnett-Tataryn and husband, Peter of Elk Grove, Kathryn and husband, Aaron York of Cameron Park, Kelly Salas of El Dorado Hills, Ray Barnett, Jr. of Modesto, Raychelle Brannon of Linda, DeLon Barnett of La Quinta and great-grandchild, Aidan York. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Bell. There will be a Celebration of Dorothy?s Life on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Mistywood, 1275 Pleasant Grove Blvd, Roseville, CA. Family and friends are welcome to attend. Memorial contributions by be made to Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California, P.O. Box 1824, Sacramento, CA 95812.
