Obituary of Elinore Sophia Johnson

Elinore Sophia Johnson, born Elinore Sophia Carlson in San Francisco on April 17, 1915, joined the Lord in Modesto at the age of 89 on January 14, 2005. For a number of years, Elinore was the associated editor of the Mayfair Weekly Newspaper in San Jose, editor of the Construction Center News in Santa Clara and Office Manager at Global/VIP Movers in San Jose. In the past decade, Elinore had several of her poems published. She had lived in the Lodi area at one time. Elinore enjoyed singing and playing piano, reading, sewing and many other hobbies and crafts. She will be missed by all those she touched. She is the beloved mother of Pamela Guidotti, Jeri Johnson, Christine Walker, Harold E. Johnson, Jr., Keith Johnson and Linnea Sorci; survived also by 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Johnson, Sr., sons; Thor Johnson and Derek Johnson; brothers, Albert H. Carlson and Ivar S. Carlson. A Memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, January 28th at 11:00 AM at Galt Funeral Home with Vicar Dustin Lenz from Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Galt officiating. Committal will be private at Galt-Arno Cemetery.
