Emma Louise Heady, age 96 of Lodi, passed away on January 17th in a local convalescent hospital. She was born on March 15, 1908 in Chicago, Illinois where she grew up and graduated from high school. She married Michael Angarola in 1928. They moved to Natchez, Mississippi in 1936, then to Alexandria, Louisiana in 1941. Mr. Angarola passed away in 1960 and in 1971 she married Aloysius "Babe" Heady. She lived in Lodi from 1972 to 1978 when she moved to Walnut Creek, then Hesperia from 1983 to 1997 and she returned to Lodi in 1997. She was a former member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Alexandria, Louisiana. Mrs. Heady has been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years, serving in many official capacities as Auxiliary President of the George M. Simmons Unit #3; also as Louisiana Department VA Representative for the 6th, 7th & 8th Districts for 3 years, at the VA Hospital in Alexandria. The Gold Star Mothers were organized while she was president.. She was first president of World War I Auxiliary Cenla Barracks #2100 in Alexandria, LA. She helped to organize the Girl Scouts at Our lady of Prompt Succor and was leader of two troops for three years. She also served as 8th District Girls State chairman. Her other affiliations were with T. B. Seals; Red Cross; March of Dimes; Community Chest; American Cancer Society. She was a member of Hesperia Leisure League, serving in various capacities and was pianist for the Hesperia Leisure Boys Choir for many years. She was also a member of Lodi Woman's Club; 50 Plus Club; Newcomer's Club. In addition to the piano, she also enjoyed playing the accordion and organ. She is survived by daughters, Mary M. Yates of Lodi, Barbara J. Fillette of Redding; brother, Jerry Lino of Hesperia, CA; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by, first husband, Michael J. Angarola and second husband, Aloysius "Babe" Heady; sister, Rose Rueff. There will be no funeral services. Arrangements are under the direction of Lodi Funeral Home.
