Jerry T. Watson of Galt passed away in Lodi on January 4, 2005 at the age of 79. Mr. Watson was born in Portsmouth, Iowa on May 8, 1925 to Iva and Ruic Watson. He moved to Galt with his family when he was ten years old, leaving when he was 20 when he moved to Nebraska. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII from 1943-46. On May 22, 1951, he married LaVose Lungren in Omaha, Nebraska. Jerry was self-employed as an owner-operator in the trucking industry. He retired in 1987 and moved back to Galt in 1988 with his wife. He enjoyed horses, music, gardening and cooking. Mr. Watson is survived by his wife, LaVose Watson of Galt; daughter, Joan (John) Demgen of Diablo; 3 granddaughters, Jennifer (Thomas) Flint of San Francisco, Megan (Scott) Smith of Silverthorne, Colorado and Elizabeth (Chip) Lyles of Reno. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday at Galt Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Tony Berry officiating. Committal will be private. A reception will immediately follow the service at Heritage Park Clubhouse in Galt. There is no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lodi Unit, 207 East Alpine Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204.
