Obituary of Eleanor Berry

ELEANOR MARIE (ESSER) BERRY, Age 86 passed away on December 24th in a Tracy Hospital. She was born in Two Inlets, Minnesota to Frank and Louise Esser on March 22, 1918. At the age of 12 Eleanor moved with her family to Snohomish, Washington where she attended school, graduating from Snohomish High School in June of 1936. Her mother passed away that year and Eleanor remained at home taking care of the family. She married Francis Eugene Berry in July of 1938. The couple moved to Everett, Washington in 1945 and to Sunnyvale, CA in 1950 where she worked in the electronics industry. She was employed by Westinghouse, Accent Foods and retired from Raytheon Semiconductor as Accounts Payable Supervisor in 1980. She and Francis then moved to Lodi. During the next eight years, she and her husband enjoyed traveling with their trailer. She had been living in Tracy the past few months. She was a member of the Gem and Mineral Society in Lodi; and Order of Eastern Star Lodi Chapter #150; The Newcomers Club; The Widowed Persons Club; Mah-Jongg Club. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing and crafts and playing pinochle. She is survived by her son, Ron Berry of Tracy; daughter, Sharon Gile of Folsom, CA; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Eugene Berry on May 18, 1992; brothers, Herman Esser, Victor Esser; sisters, Caroline Adams, Marina Perecz.
