Obituary of Lee Junior Edwards

Lee Junior Edwards, 77, of Galt, California passed away December 8, 2004 at home after an extended illness of cancer. Junior was born in Bentonville, Arkansas September 13, 1927 to John Lee and Elsie Edwards. Junior attended school in Arkansas and Mesa, Arizona, and then joined the Army and served his country from 1945 to 1947. Junior then moved to California and met the love of his life, Betty J. Buttress, and they married on December 16, 1950 in Lodi, CA. Junior worked seasonal jobs with Stokley, Thornton and Tri-Valley canneries. He also worked several years at San Joaquin County Mosquito Abatement before retiring, and then he became a self-employed upholsterer and then retired again in 1974. Junior is survived by his wife Betty of 54 years of Galt, sons, John (Shorty) Edwards of Lockeford, Larry Edwards and wife Karen of Galt, Rick Edwards of Lodi and daughter Connie Honeycutt and husband Bob of Lodi. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeremy (Bubba) Edwards, Kareena and Becky Edwards of Galt, Heather Honeycutt of Lodi, Courtney Edwards of Lodi, and Ryan and Michael Edwards of Lockeford; brother, Bill Edwards of Kansas, sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his three brothers and three sisters. Junior was loved by all and will be missed by all. Junior's favorite hobbies were fishing, gardening and playing cards with his family and friends. Junior's memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home Chapel. There is no visitation and committal will be private. The family requests that any donations are to be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204-1953
