JOAN MONSON ABLEY, age 71 of Galt, died on November 21st at her home. She was born in Isle, Minnesota and moved to Sacramento with her family at age 5. She graduated from Sacramento High School in 1951. She was employed by the County of Sacramento following high school until her marriage on June 8, 1957 to Barth G. Abley. They made their home in Rancho Cordova, moving to Mountain View in 1965. The couple moved to Galt in 1999. Joan enjoyed raising her three sons; baking cookies; current events and politics and was an avid 49er and San Francisco Giants fan. She is survived by her three sons, Brad M. Abley of San Jose, Paul Abley of Pittsburg, Greg Abley of Mountain View; sister, Peggy Stetson of Galt. She is preceded in death by her husband, Barth G. Abley on July 14, 1999; 4 siblings, Robert Monson, Judy Monson-Platt, Billy Monson and Caroline Monson. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at Galt Funeral Home and interment at Galt Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
