Mrs. Lorna Mayer a long time resident of Lodi and devoted wife and mother passed away Friday November 12, 2004, at the age of 74. Mrs. Mayer was born May 3, 1930 in Mt. Lake, Minnesota to Edwin and Anna Radtke. Mrs. Mayer along with her late husband, Marvin Mayer, owned and operated the Mayer family grape vineyards for many years. Mrs. Mayer was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, also attended Zion Reformed Church, and most recent had attended bible studies and fellowships at Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed morning walks, daily coffee get togethers, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by 1 son, Mark Mayer and wife Michelle of Lodi; 2 daughters, Diane and husband Ernie Meier of Lodi; Janis and husband Dan Christy of Lodi; 1 brother, Orlando Radtke of Lodi; 2 sisters, Doris Wallen of Palm Desert; Geraldine Miller of Loomis; 9 grandchildren, Kerri Cooley of Stockton; Bryan Meier, Meghan and Graham Christy, Christian, Weston, Mason, Cambridge and Karahgan Mayer all of Lodi, 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Mayer in June of 2004, a twin sister Elaine DeJong, and sisters, Rosella "Sally" Sperling, Cleona Radtke, 3 brothers, Edwin Radtke, Art Radtke, and Marvin "Corky" Radtke. A Graveside service will be held Friday November 19, 2004, 10:00 am at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at the Lodi Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held Wednesday and Thursday 12:00-8:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories may be shared.
