Mrs. Carmen Kay Corral of Eureka and former resident of Woodbridge passed away unexpectedly, Saturday October 30, 2004 at the age of 40. Mrs. Corral was born September 1, 1964 in Turtle Lake, North Dakota to Roger and Rosemarie Papke. Mrs. Corral worked in the banking industry for many years, most recent for the U.S. Bank Co., in Eureka; she had also worked for Union Safe Deposit Bank in Stockton as well as other local baking institutions. She was on the board of directors for the H-CAR, a Handi-Cap assistance group of Eureka and was an annual volunteer at the Blues by the Bay Festival in Eureka. She enjoyed water skiing, camping, reading, motorcycling, and most of all helping others. She will be best remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter and friend. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Daniel Corral of Eureka, 2 sons, Brandon Corral of Eureka; Matthew Corral of Eureka; 2 sisters, Melinda Barnes of Ephrata, WA; Celeste Sullivan of Entiat, WA; Parents, Roger and Rose Papke of Stockton; Dr. Robert and Rosemarie Kellar of Lodi; life long friends, Shelly Highsmith and Karren Kuzyk of Woodbridge. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Mrs. June Papke October 22, 2004. A chapel service will be held on Friday November 5, 2004, 10:00 am at the Lodi Funeral Home, followed by interment at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery in Lodi, California. Visitation will be held Thursday 12:00-8:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. A service of remembrance will also be held Saturday November 20, 2004, 11:00 am at the Cook-Ammenwerth family residence, 1858 "O" St. Eureka, California Remembrances can be sent to the Carmen K. Corral Memorial Fund, 2910 "F" St. Eureka, CA 95501.
