Obituary of Ruth Thompson Pratt

RUTH THOMPSON PRATT, age 87, passed away on Nov. 3rd in a local hospital. She was born on June 9, 1917 in Acampo. Ruth attended Houston School and graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1937. She was married to La Vern E. Pratt in 1937 and the couple made their home in Lodi. She was a member of Bethel Open Bible Church where she taught primary classes for many years. She attended Century Assembly. Ruth was a homemaker and the matriarch of her family. She gave selflessly of herself to her family and those around her. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Wagner (Jim) of Wilton; a son, Ken (Kim) Pratt of Lockeford; a sister, Aileen (Wes) Moore of Desert Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Garry (LaDonna) Meidinger, Jackie (Richard) Pride, Alice (Bob) Bennett, James and Amy Pratt; nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, LaVern E. Pratt, her parents C. W. (Bill) and Bess Thompson; two siblings, Kenneth and Merle Thompson; great-grandson, Kyle Bennett. Graveside services will be held on Monday at l p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park with Rev. Harold Duncan officiating. There will be no visitation held at Ruth's request.
