Obituary of Manuel Medeiros

Manuel Medeiros of Lodi passed away in Lodi on October 14, 2004 at the age of 77. Mr. Medeiros was born in Ripon, CA to Manuel and Isabel Medeiros on July 20, 1927. They moved to Roberts Island when he was a young child where he attended Fairchild Grammar School, moving to Lodi in 1950. Mr. Medeiros married Mariella Wolf on January 2, 1955 in Stockton. They made their home in Lodi where he has since resided. Mr. Medeiros has been self-employed as a dairyman/farmer for 50 years until his retirement. He loved his family and being with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed vacations, cruises and the ocean. Mr. Medeiros was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, Stockton Portuguese Club, I.D.E.S. and U.P.E.C. He is survived by his wife, Mariella Medeiros of Lodi; son, Michael Jacob and wife, Melanie Medeiros of Lodi; daughter, Maureen Hourahan of Lodi; grandson, Timothy Hourahan and granddaughter, Mya Medeiros; brother, Edward and wife, Rory Medeiros of Lodi; sisters, Dorothy Teixeira of Escalon and Julie Lind of Lodi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday , October 19th at 10:00 AM at St. Anne's Catholic Church with Father Nathan White as officiant. Committal will follow immediately at Cherokee Memorial Park. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be said Monday at 7:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home with Deacon Karl Welsbacher officiating. Friends are invited to visitation on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., continuing Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home.
