Pat Catanzarite, 77, of Lodi passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at a local Hospital. He was born in Messena, New York on April 29, 1927 to Patsy and Margaret Perry Catanzarite. He was one of nine children. The family moved to California in 1939 and settled Fresno. He joined the U.S. Army in 1945 and was stationed in Okinawa. After his discharge, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Tripoli, North Africa. He was a firefighter. He formerly worked for Rohr Aircraft in Chula Vista and P.I. E. Trucking in Sacramento. He operated a snack bar at the J.C.Penney Store at 7th & K Streets in Sacramento from 1960-1964. In November 1964, he moved his family to Lodi. He was a life member of the Lodi Post # 1968, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Life Member of Military Order of Cooties Pup Tent #30 Committee member of Lodi. He became the first 13th District VFW All-American Commander in 1982-1983. He was a firefighter (volunteer) in Lepsic, Delaware and in Broderick, Sacramento County. He is survived by his wife, Wilma of 54 years; son, Pat, Jr.; daughters, Katherine Catanzarite and Roxanne McBurnett; grandchildren, Shawn and Joseph Catanzarite, Stephen McBurnett, U.S. Army in Georgia, Billy McBurnett, Michael King, Sheila Holmes and Michelle Catanzarite; great-grandchildren, Angela and Julie Holmes and Sasha and Sebastian Catanzarite; siblings, Domonick and wife ,Angie, Frankie, Salvadore and Tony Catanzarite, Betty Burns and Ann and husband, Frank Hare. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patsy and Margaret Perry Catanzarite; brother-in-law, Edward Burns; daughter, CherylAnn Capobianco and step-grandson, Heath Barlow. Friends are invited to visitation on Friday from 12:00 noon until 8:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be held on Saturday at Lodi Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with committal to immediately follow at Lodi Memorial Cemetery.
