BERTHA MAE FELKINS, age 78 of Lodi, passed away at her home on October 1, 2004. Bertha was born on February 25, 1926 in Hartman, Arkansas. She married William Lee Felkins on March 2, 1940 in Clarksville, Arkansas. The couple lived in Arkansas and Connecticut before moving to San Bernardino, California, then moving to Lodi in 1949. Bertha was employed by Safeway Stores in Lodi and served as Secretary for the Retail Clerk's Union for several years before retiring in 1973. She was an active member of Century Assembly for almost 30 years and the Women's Ministries of the church. She was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking and canning. Her life touched thousands of people through her years of service with the Women's Ministries at Century Assembly. Her loving and caring arms were open to everyone she met. A wife who was so loved, a mother with infinite grace, and Granny, sincere, warm and greatly loved. We will miss you so much. With our eternal love, Your family. Survived by her husband, William Lee Felkins of Lodi; daughter, Delores Haze of Lodi; son, Donald Felkins (Melva) of Lodi, daughters-in-law, Jeanette Felkins of Lodi and Linda Lake of Boise, Idaho 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother, Harold L. Shoeffler (Elaine) of Stockton; sisters, Ruby A. McCleary and Melba Robertson of Manteca. Preceded in death by: son, Steve Felkins in 2002; brothers, Lawrence Shoeffler, Milburn Shoeffler, Joseph F. Shoeffler; sister, Agnes Guthrie; brothers-in-law, Ben Robertson and Homer McCleary. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Century Assembly with Pastors Dale Edwards and Harold Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation at Lodi Funeral Home will begin on Sunday from 5 until 8 p.m., Monday and Tuesday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday from 8 to 9 a.m. .
