Obituary of Robert Herman Knoedler

Robert H. Knoedler of Lodi passed away in Lodi on September 7, 2004 at the age of 65. Mr. Knoedler was born in San Francisco on May 20, 1939 to Herman and Hedwig Knoedler . He was raised in San Francisco and later attended Concordia College, River Forest, Illinois earning first a BA and later a Masters Degree in Education. On August 5, 1962, he married Bonnie McFall in Santa Monica. He taught school in Van Nuys, Norridge, Illinois, St. Paulus Lutheran Church in San Francisco, Peru, Indiana, finally settling in Lodi in 1980. He played the organ and was a full-time choir director as well as teacher at St. Peter Lutheran Church, retiring in 2001. He later went to work at Zion Reformed Church, retiring in April of 2003. He enjoyed music and trains. Robert was a member of Zion Reformed Church. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie Knoedler of Lodi; children, Corinne McClendon of Lodi, John Knoedler of Fairfield and Carol Knoedler of Lodi; sister, Ruth Knoedler of Hattieville, Arkansas and brother, Walter Knoedler of Hayward. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday at 1:00 PM at Zion Reformed Church with Pastor Matthew Duerr as officiant. Committal will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park. There is no visitation. Memorial Contributions may be made to Zion Reformed Church, 100 S. Ham Lane, Lodi, CA 95242 or St. Peter Lutheran School, 2400 Oxford Way, Lodi, CA 95242.
