Obituary of Paul Leon Adkisson

Leon Adkisson of Rio Vista passed away in Lodi on July 20, 2004 at the age of 83. Mr. Adkisson was born in Jenny Lind, Arkansas on January 19, 1921 to William and Myrtle Adkisson. He came to California in 1941. Mr. Adkisson married Inez Pierce on May 29, 1947 in Lodi and settled in Rio Vista. Mr. Adkisson was a retired forklift operator for Black Welder Manufacturing, retiring after 32 years of employment. He enjoyed music, particularly gospel and country, golf, baseball, basketball and tennis. Leon was a member of Union Baptist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife, Inez Adkisson of Rio Vista and daughter, Coleen King of North Highlands; sister, Jean Bryce of Ozark, Arkansas. One sister, Louise Martin, preceded him in death. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, July 24th at 11:00 AM with Pastors John Davenport and Todd Cheney of Union Baptist Church officiating. There was no visitation, and committal is private.
