Obituary of Alta Mary Ackerman

Alta Mary Ackerman of Lodi passed away in Lodi on July 21, 2004 at the age of 96. Ms. Ackerman was born in Grants Pass, Oregon to Harry and Minnie Ackerman on May 11, 1908. She graduated from Paradise Valley Hospital School of Nursing in Southern California in 1933 and was a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles for many years. She retired in 1978. She moved to Portland, Oregon in 1993 and later to Lodi in 1998. She loved animals, particularly cats, and she enjoyed embroidery, crocheting and reading. Ms. Ackerman was a member of Lodi English Oaks Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She is survived by her brothers, Kenneth Ackerman of Acampo and John Ackerman of the Philippines. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Harriet Ackerman, Frances Munson, Emily Fowler, Byron Ackerman, Maurice Ackerman, Dorothy Allen and Jean Wells. There is no visitation. Committal will be private at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, CA.
