Obituary of Lucian Neely

MR. Lucian ?Hoot? Neely, Sr. of Stockton passed away Wednesday July 7, 2004 in a Stockton hospital at the age of 80. Mr. Neely was born October 28, 1923 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Harvey and Biddie Allie Neely. Mr. Neely worked as an automobile painter for Hansel/Ortman Cadillac & Oldsmobile Car Dealership in Stockton for 42 years before retiring in 1985. Mr. Neely was a United States Navy and WWII veteran, a member of Machinist International Union. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping, woodworking, gardening, remodeling with his sons and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Mr. Neely is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Lucy Neely of Stockton, 2 sons, Lucian Neely, Jr. and wife Cynthia of Lodi, George Neely and wife Nancy of Palmdale, 2 brothers, Sequoyah Neely of Phoenix, AZ, Leroy Neely of Tahlequah, OK, 3 grandchildren, Shauna Sanders of Magalia, CA, Sol Neely of Lafayette, IN, Steven Neely of Superior, IN, 3 great granddaughters, Lauren and Kathryn Sanders of Magalia, Kalista Neely of Superior, IN. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, George Neely, Coleman Neely, and 1 sister, Ellen Halfacre. A funeral service will be held Saturday July 10, 2004, 10:00 am at St. John?s the Baptist Episcopal Church in Lodi, followed by interment at the Sunset View Cemetery in Jackson, CA. Visitation will be held Friday 12:00?8:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home.
