Mrs. Hilda Howard Wahl of Lodi passed away July 5, 2004 in a Lodi Hospital at the age of 95. Mrs. Wahl was born July 2, 1909 in Greenway, South Dakota to John and Christina Zimmerman. Mrs. Wahl worked as a waitress for the Woodbridge Golf & Country Club, the Tokay Bowl and the Hollywood Caf for many years before retiring in 1972. Mrs. Wahl attended the First Baptist Church of Lodi. Mrs. Wahl was an avid painter and ceramics maker, and enjoyed playing piano, gardening, crocheting, and baseball games. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by 1 daughter Darlene Jordan Ruse and husband Arthur of Lodi, 1 son Gerald Howard and wife Jean of Visalia, 2 sisters, Irene Schnaible of Lodi, Ruth Krause of Fargo, ND, Daughter in-law Lois Howard of Redfield, SD, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband Adam Wahl in 1991 and first husband Gordon Howard in 1953, 1 son, Roger Howard in 1995, 2 sisters, Leah Wolf, Bertha Weinbender, 2 brothers, Arthur and Edward Zimmerman. A chapel service will be held Thursday July 8, 2004, 3:00 pm at the Evergreen Chapel in the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Lodi Funeral Home. Remembrances can be sent to the First Baptist Church of Lodi, 19 S. Central Lodi, CA 95240.
