Obituary of Francisco Lopez

Mr. Francisco Cortez Lopez of Galt passed away Monday June 21, 2004 in a Sacramento Hospital at the age of 78. Mr. Lopez was born June 23, 1925 in Michoacan Mexico to Francisco and Maria de Jesus Lopez. Mr. Lopez came to the United States in 1944 at the age of 19, as part of the Brasero Program, and later gained residence and settled in the Lodi, Galt area. Mr. Lopez later worked for the Woodbridge Irrigation District before retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church of Galt. He had a passion for gardening and dancing. He enjoyed listening to music, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He will be best remembered for a great sense of humor and his giving personality He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mrs. Guadalupe Lopez of Galt, 6 sons, Francisco Lopez of Huntington Park, Johnny Lopez of Los Angeles, Paul Lopez of Los Angeles, Joaquin Lopez of Galt, Peter Lopez and Vicente Lopez both of Eugene, OR., 6 daughters, Maria Ornelas of Huntington Park, Amelia Bullock of Rio Alto, Martha Mills of Los Angeles, Jessie White of Eugene, OR, Sandra Lopez of Antioch, Enedelia Lopez of Galt, 2 brothers, Gerardo Lopez and Ramon Lopez both of Lake Tahoe, NV, 2 sisters, Elena Hernandez of Delano, Concha Rodriguez of Los Angeles, 36 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A church service will be held Friday June 25, 2004, 9:00 am at St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Galt, followed by interment at the Galt District Cemetery. A rosary will be held Thursday 6:30 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday 12:00-8:00pm at the Lodi Funeral Home.
