Obituary of Librada Vargas

Librada Vargas of Lockeford passed away in Lodi on June 5, 2004 at the age of 77. Mrs. Vargas was born in Canutillo, Texas on May 23, 1927. She married Ramon Vargas on May 1, 1948 in Mexico. They moved to California in December of 1984. She enjoyed gambling, knitting, shopping and traveling, and most of all, her family. She was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church in Lockeford. She is survived by her husband, Ramon Vargas of Lockeford; children, Irma Palacios of Mexico, Delia Leyva of Mexico, Sergio Vargas of Clements, Teresa Vargas of Lockeford, Manuel Vargas of Deming, NM, Alma Rose Vargas of Mexico, Lydia Maldonado of Clements; 19 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Refugio Gomez, Arturo Gomez, Consuelo Gomez, Ildefonso Gomez, all of Mexico and Lenor Torrez of Victor. She was preceded in death by her sister, Emma Gomez de Anaya. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 at St. Joachim Catholic Church with Father Jose Ruiz as celebrant. A recitation of the Rosary will be on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at Lodi Funeral Home from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM. Inurnment will be private.
