Mr. Mas Nagata of Acampo passed away at his residence on May 18, 2004 at the age of 86. Mr. Nagata was born in Sacramento, CA on January 9, 1918. He was sent to Hiroshima, Japan at the age of 6 years where he was educated. He returned to this area at the age of 19. He married Shizue "Susie" Nakayama on October 21, 1940 in Walnut Grove. At this time he began farming, retiring after 50 years. He has lived in this area for over 63 years. He enjoyed his family, fishing and working. He was a member of the Buddhist Church of Lodi and a member of the J. A. C.L. He is survived by his wife, Susie Nagata of Acampo; son, Fred and wife, Joyce Nagata of Lodi, daughter, Judy and husband, Harry Watanabe of Camarillo, CA, son, Phil and wife, Sandi Nagata of Stockton, daughter Phyllis and husband, Robert Bruns of Lodi, son, Roy Nagata and Cheryl Fukunaga of Stockton; grandchildren, Jason Watanabe, Mieko Nagata and Todd and wife, Maile Bruns; siblings, Toshi Nagata of Sunol, Kiyomi Nagata, Walnut Creek and Minoru Nagata, Concord. A Memorial Service will be held at the Buddhist Church of Lodi on Monday, May 24th at 2 PM with Reverend Kenshin Fujimoto officiating. A Committee Meeting will be held at 7: 00 PM at the Buddhist Church of Lodi on Thursday. Visitation will be held on Friday from 8:00AM until 8:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private.
