Marvin John Switzenberg of Lodi passed away in Lodi at the age of 83. Mr. Switzenberg was born on October 14, 1920 in Morristown, Minnesota to Ernest and Alma Switzenberg. His family moved to Lodi in 1926. He has been a resident of Lodi since that time. Mr. Switzenberg graduated from Lodi High School in 1939. He served in the US Air Force during WWII. He was the Deputy Agricultural Commissioner for the County of San Joaquin, retiring after 36 years. He was a member of the Good Sam Lodi Bunch. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and " RVing" He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Switzenberg of Lodi; son, Don Switzenberg of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Joanne Fisher of Lodi; grandchildren, Jamie Deabler, Stockton, Kearstin Nuckels of AZ, Tyson Switzenberg, Thad Switzenberg, Trask Switzenberg, Tanner Switzenberg and Kessa Switzenberg, all of AZ; 2 great-granddaughters, Allexa and Ashtyn Nuckels of AZ.; numerous nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Switzenberg . A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 Tuesday at Lodi Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Glover officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 12 noon until 8:00 PM at the Lodi Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento Ca 95817 or to donor's choice in lieu of flowers.
