Obituary of Paula Rivera

Paula Rivera of Lodi passed away in Lodi on May 1, 2004 at the age of 91. Mrs. Rivera was born in Colotlan, Jalisco, Mexico on March 9, 1913. She married Juan Rivera in 1931. They came to the United States in 1936, settling in Stockton. She moved to Lodi in 1976. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking , but most of all she loved caring for her family, particularly her grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Louis Rivera, Stockton, Angelo Rivera, Missouri, Eloise Fernandez, Pittsburg, CA, David Rivera, Lodi, Frank Rivera, Stockton, Irma Fuentes, Lodi, Faye Serrano, Stockton, Amy Ornelas, Lodi, and Mary Fuentes, Lodi; 24 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Rivera; sons, Rudy and Fernando Rivera, grandchild, Carl Rivera and 3 sisters. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Stockton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Stockton with Father Pat Walker, Celebrant. Committal will follow at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 7:00PM. There will be the Recitation of the Rosary on Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home Chapel with family officiating.
