Obituary of Amanda Motz Ebert

Please share a memory of Amanda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Amanda Motz Ebert, age 93, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004, at a local convalescent hospital after an extended illness. She was born December 9, 1910, in Lodi to Gottlieb and Magdalena Bittner Motz. She was a lifelong member of the Salem Evagelical United Brethren Church in Lodi, in which she was active until illness precluded her from attending. Beginning services for the church were held at her grandparent's home until a church building was acquired. Amanda graduated from Victor School and attended Lodi High School. She worked on the family vineyard and at Victor packing shed prior to her marriage. She wed Fred Ebert in 1944 and they were married 55 years prior to Fred's death in 1999. Amanda was a homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, and canning her produce. An excellent seamstress, her greatest creation was making her daughter's satin and lace wedding gown. Amanda will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law Jeanette and Terry Quashnick; granddaughter Suzanne Quashnick; grandson Ryan Quashnick, and great-grandson Trystan Quashnick, as well as many nieces and nephews in the Sacramento area who lovingly referred to her as Tante Boss (German and Russian for Aunt). She was preceded in death by her brothers; Edwin Motz, Walter Motz, and Benjamin Motz.
