Obituary of Mildred H. Walker

Mildred H. Walker, of Galt, passed away in Galt on April 8, 2004 at the age of 86. Mrs. Walker was born in North Dakota on March 3, 1918 to Dennis and Florence Purcel . She moved to Niles, CA and graduated from Livermore High School. She married Mr. James O. Walker on November 20, 1936 in Oakland. They moved to Quincy in 1942,then to Stockton, Livermore and then to Hillsboro, Oregon. She moved to Galt in 1970. She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed sewing and reading. She was a member of the L.D.S., Galt First Ward and the Rebekah Lodge. She is survived by sons, James E. Walker of Oregon, Allen W. Walker of Hillsboro, Oregon; daughters, Colleen Tilley of Galt and Irene James of Redding.; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Thelma Lardy of Forest Grove, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Walker; sisters, Shirley Garza, Doris Tadlock; brother, Harry Dailey and grandson, Brent Foley. There is no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM at Galt - Arno Cemetery in Galt with Elder Bob Woods of the L.D.S. Galt Second Ward officiating.
