Alice Weisz, 93, went to sleep on March 29, 2004, waiting for Christ's call on the resurrection morning. She was born August 16, 1910 in Kulm, North Dakota. Her family moved to Goodrich, North Dakota where she attended school and enjoyed playing basketball. She married Henry Weisz in 1942 and they lived in Hurdsfield, North Dakota where they farmed and did custom combining until 1970 when they retired and moved to Paradise, California. Alice worked in the kitchen at Feather River Hospital for several years. Alice moved to Lodi in 1985. She was the Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Community Service leader for many years and did numerous other volunteer activities in the community. She was happiest when helping others. She enjoyed her Hutchins Street Square Pool family where she participated in water aerobics. She was an avid Sacramento Kings fan who enjoyed her season tickets for over five years. Making German food was her specialty especially kuchen which she shared with family and friends. She was an active member of the Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church. She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Grondahl and son-in-law Marcel of Lodi; two granddaughters, Maurita Crew and husband Jeff of Oroville and Melanee Grondahl of Sommerville Massachusetts, and her great grandchildren, Rick, Amber and Shilah Crew, her brothers, Benjamin Knecht of Hurdsfield, North Dakota, and Otto Knecht of Grand Forks, North Dakota as well as two step-children, Leonard Weisz of Fessenden, North Dakota and Adeline Black of Phoenix, Arizona and their families, many nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Weisz, and five brothers, Emanuel, Albert, John, Eddie and Harry Knecht. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Fairmont Community Service Center., 730 S. Fairmont Ave., Lodi, CA 95240 or The Quiet Hour, 630 Brookside, Redlands, CA 92373.
