Obituary of Rudy Wright

Robert Rudolph "Rudy" Wright passed away on March 25, 2004 at the age of 78. Rudy was born in Nettleton, Arkansas in 1925. He later moved with his family to San Pedro, California. Rudy attended San Pedro High School and at the age of 17 joined the Navy during WWII. He served on a Sub Tender in the Pacific. Rudy married Wanda Riley of San Pedro in August of 1949. He worked at Seaboard Motors in San Pedro. He was past president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and member of the 20/30 Club. In 1960 they moved to Lodi. Rudy was manager of the Sherwin Williams Paint Store "Paintin Place" in Lodi until his retirement in 1986. Rudy loved traveling, and boating in the Delta and collecting coins, mechanical toys and Coca Cola memorabilia . He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Lodi Masonic Lodge, Sirs, and First Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents David and Bess Wright of Lodi. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, children, Kathy and David Warner of Lodi and David and Tess Wright of Woodbridge. Grandchildren, Jason and Barbara Warner of San Jose, Tara and Jim Staal of Lodi, Brandon Wright of Lockeford, Derek Wright of Lodi and Joshua Wright of Sacramento, a Great Granddaughter, Kayla Warner of San Jose, a sister Barbara Minton of Florida. Donations may be made to Parkinson's Foundation at www.parkinsons.org or the Shriners Children's Hospital. There will be no visitation and per Rudy's wishes only a private family memorial service will be held.
